Upholding Rights and Facilitating Accessibility for Individuals With Disabilities

Organizations should operate under a non-discrimination policy in all employment practices per the provisions of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.

According to this policy, reasonable accommodation is any change or adjustment to a job or work environment that permits a qualified applicant or employee with a disability to participate in the job application process, perform essential functions of the job, or enjoy the benefits and privileges of employment equal to those enjoyed by employees without disabilities. Reasonable accommodations may include restructuring jobs, modifying work schedules and reassigning a vacant position.
