Equal Employment Opportunity: Capability Maturity Model and Six Elements of Infrastructure
This document includes the capability maturity model and six elements of infrastructure focused on the equal employment opportunities process.
The capability maturity model describes a maturity curve on these capability levels: INITIAL, which includes ad hoc/chaotic processes such as policies being non-existent; REPEATABLE, which includes intuitive processes such as compliance of company policies and HR legal requirements; DEFINED, which includes qualitative/quantitative processes such as compliance and monitoring of company policies; MANAGED, which includes quantitative processes, including monitoring and updating of company policies; and OPTIMIZING, which includes continuous improvement processes such as strategies including continuous monitoring and updating of company policies.
In this sample, an OPTIMIZED organization’s strategies include compliance, continuous monitoring and updating company policies.
The capability maturity model is a framework that describes an improvement path from an ad-hoc, immature process to a mature, disciplined process focused on continuous improvement. The CMM defines the state of a process using a common language that is based on the Carnegie Mellon Software Engineering Institute Capability Maturity Model.
