Guidelines for the Retention and Disposal of Records
This policy helps to ensure that legal statutes regarding data retention are observed, industrial and business requirements regarding data retention are observed, and data which has survived its retention period is destroyed promptly to avoid legal and litigation exposures. The sample applies to all employees.
This document states that all data must have an identified required retention period (taking into account all legal, industrial and business requirements) and an expiry date, after which time it will be archived with a new expiry date if required, and destroyed in a timely and approved manner with its associated processing software and version defined.
