Understanding the risks involved in accounting information systems and the proper design, documentation, and validation of mitigating controls. Theory and application.

Course Objectives

The objectives of this course are to:

• Challenge students to become better professionally
• Improve students’ ability to learn on their own and to perform in relatively unstructured environments
• Improve students’ ability to communicate in both written and verbal forms
• Further cultivate students’ ability to work together in teams to accomplish tasks
• Develop students’ technical competency in risk management practices, IT assurance and Microsoft Excel
