A Practical Guide to Creating Effective Self-Assessment Surveys
In this tool, we’ve compiled a guide that can be used to prepare and design self-assessment surveys.
This guide provides preliminary considerations and quick tips for designing the questionnaire, such as the wording and order of questions, exceptions to make and issues to avoid. Preliminary considerations in these presentations include avoiding shotgun approaches, avoiding long questionnaires, establishing a method of statistical analysis that directs the questions’ format and character, obtaining feedback from a small (but representative) sample of potential respondents, and conducting a field trial. A field trial will be desirable or necessary if a field trial of a mailed questionnaire yields an unsatisfactory response rate.
