Future-state design characteristics include: vendor management is centralized with a better control environment (compliance reviews of new vendors); a more effective data structure exists for easier vendor reporting; invoice receipts are received centrally by AP; invoice receipts are imaged electronically, allowing for better visibility into open AP for accruals/cash forecasting; offline forms to complete do not exist; vendor management is standardized, but the execution is decentralized; and multiple payment methods are processed in a controlled fashion.
