A Self-Evaluation Tool for Property Management Accounting
This questionnaire provides points to consider during a preliminary control assessment for property management accounting functions.
The focus areas include cash management, community accruals, payroll, database, and miscellaneous. Sample points include: the community understands their responsibilities as they relate to cash management; there are deposit differences as result of errors by the community; NSFs are recorded timely by the community; deposits are recorded timely by the community; rents received are compared to rents expected; deposits are compared to community cash receipt reports; and the information systems meet the needs necessary for efficient and accurate cash management activities.
