More chief audit executives (CAEs) are appointing IT audit directors to assume responsibility for managing the technology control environment as their organizations undergo massive technology-driven changes. We’ve seen this upward trend in designated IT auditors over the past several years: 55% of companies now have an IT audit director or equivalent positions, and most IT audit directors regularly attend board meetings. Not surprisingly, we’ve noticed that IT audit leaders have plenty on their plates.
